Almost Instant 2-minute Yummy Yogurt Smoothie

Learning you can’t have cow’s milk or any cow dairy products is really tough news to take.  Losing milk is one thing, but when you start thinking about all the cow dairy products that are in our favorite every day foods…losing them can be overwhelming.  Here’s an almost-instant smoothie you can make in 2 minutes that is creamy, sweet, delicious and full of super foods and probiotics!

I make this first thing in the morning on a regular basis, to keep the twins happy while they wait for their eggies to be made.  Whether you have screaming toddlers, hungry big kids, or just need to get your blood sugar stabilized pronto, this is a fast and yummy fix.

Nutritional Notes: This recipe is free of gluten, sugar and cow’s dairy. It is compliant with the SCD & GAPS diets. The Clean protocol does not differentiate between cow’s and goat’s or sheep’s dairy, all milk and dairy is eliminated (although most people who are allergic to cow’s dairy can tolerate goat’s and sheep’s dairy).

Printable Recipe:  See the summary printable recipe card at the end of this post.

Prep Time: This recipe takes about 2 minutes to make, and should be drank right away.

Yield: Makes 3 cups or 24oz, which can be a large to-go glass for an adult, or a few smaller glasses for kids.

Kitchen Tools: Blender, I use a Vitamix.

Ingredient List:

1 cup Goat Milk Kefir Yogurt (drinkable yogurt, I get mine at the local health food store)
($1.50 Healthfood store)

1 cup POM Pomegranate Juice (can be any of their varieties, but the key here is they’re superfoods & sweet)
($1.33 Commissary)

8oz bag of frozen organic blueberries
($1.99 Commissary)

Squirt of honey (around a tablespoon but I hate to get measuring spoons dirty for honey!)
($1.20 Windmist Farms)

Optional Ingredients:

Green Pastures Fermented Cod Liver Oil, approx. 1 tbsp

A good quality Infant Probiotic (here I use Flora brand), approx. 1 tsp

Recipe Cost: $6.02

Throw all the ingredients in your blender (I use & love a Vitamix):

Hit the Smoothie cycle if you have it, if not run for about a minute until fully blended.  Voila! You’ve got something that tastes great and is a superfood you’re not allergic to!  Awesome!

Enjoy!  My littles can’t drink it fast enough!  And it buys me time to get to those eggies…
